Re: July 31 CQB - AAR
The CQB at the offices- It was very fun, very upbeat, and very hot, as well as close and personal. The layout is great. I just believe that the teams should of been stacked a little more fairly number wise, but it was awesome. I can now see why tornadoes are so advantageous. I definately believe pistols and shotguns only was a great choice for the rooms since its so close, although my feelings may change on that when the FPS is enforced and the midcaps are enforced as well.
The general playing in the main warehouse- The most fun for me at the event, all I wish was that there was a bit more cover. Not overdoing it but a little more. I loved the upstairs part as well as the downlow part next to eachother. Possibly getting rid of the windscreens for walls and using wood or something a WAY down the line, I by no means expect it soon or anything like that, that would awesome. But having the drop of stations being lower, the close but kind of distant battles, and the ability to have a good challenging game.
The VIP game- I felt that this has the most potential by far in the game, especially by utilizing all 3 parts of the building and having a great time as well. I feel that the teams should of been changed a bit number wise.. less defenders and a couple more escorters. I understand it was the first go, but this is just my input. Possibly give each escorter 4 lives (to the chest shots) and the defenders 2 (also chest shots). I also think it should be clear that for no reason can you cut through the parking lot. If the escorters had done so, it wouldn't of been a game at all. So that is something that needs to be made very clear. It was still fun, and I sense a ton of possible improvement here.
Overall building- Very nice arrangement of challenges, a lot of rooms, and a great great great field. It is at this point my favorite, and it is just now starting. It is very hot though, as we were warned. Next time I will sure to bring some ice to chill down with (thank you Eagle1 for the ice).
Overall sportsmanship- I believe it was pretty good, a lot of people were polite and understanding. A little troubles here and there but overall not bad at all to say the least. I would like to add here that there shouldn't be full auto, it would be very bad to have that many bbs on the floor as well as the obvious potential safety issue. Just my two cents.
The potential for this building is OUTSTANDING and I am sad to have to leave for college soon, but I'll definately be playing here if it is still there when I get back from Christmas/Summer/etc.
Thank you to Ghostdancer, Eagle1, and Zero Hawk, for teaching the CQB intro class in the beginning, it was extremely helpful. I tried my best to implement it all throughout the day, although I am certain I messed up at points. Either way, it was amazing to go in there and atleast somewhat knowing what to do. Trying to grasp it all in one day is difficult and ya'lls patience was great, so thank you for that. You all are awesome and I really appreciate the work and constructive criticism you gave us.

Re: July 31 CQB - AAR
Awesome find guys, frogman and I loved it although I forgot to bring my cooler which is a no no. what would be awesome is at lunch time have a food wagon come by and we could rest more at lunch. We are filthy, it would be good to power wash the inside a little at a time. The bb's will need to be gathered up too as it could be a hazard. Waste bins at every 30' would be good to collect trash and not be a burden on a few at the end to clean up. Walls inside the big area's would help the games.
One word Awesome

Re: July 31 CQB - AAR
CQB in north Texas will forever be changed with this establishment. Everyplayer will soon be carring a minimum of 2 nades, and 203 rocketlaunchers. It will also be of note that the best cqb airsoft players are from texas

Re: July 31 CQB - AAR
Had a great time at this complex. Thanks to those involved with it. I'll welcome the FPS cap( 350, but I'd like 300 with Semiauto AEGs even) I came expecting to be shot point blank at 400fps and it did happen. Others seemed to have this mindset too, since I didn't hear much bitching. Blind fire was seen, mostly in the warehouse with the see thru nettings. I didn't like how the staging area was in the line of fire of the Offices. I held many shots in on enemies since the guy next to him had no eye-pro and was getting somehting to drink. Both dark and light games were fun, maybe I'll remember to bring my 1mil candlepower torch and g2 next time I don't think the BBs will be much of an issue since our boots should handle that. Maybe designate the parking area off limits ingame? I don't want to see anyone shot for real. Possibly we could have a work day there to help clean up the metal shards/glass/wood from the grounds of the warehouse? More cover, even just the cardboard boxes would work. I was a fan of Ghostdancers idea with civilians in the office ( I could see a very fun op with this ). I think the kill em all games in the warehouse should have a set number of lives, rather than just a time limit. The VIP game was a huge challenge for the escort team. Can't wait to do that again. Great place for the price, hope to have more games there soon!

Re: July 31 CQB - AAR
While I haven't seen anything but the previously posted pictures, when I imagine CQB I think along the lines of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uC6oHQYs_U like airsoftGIs cqb video. We had a place open for a little while back in Albuquerque that used plywood structures much like you see in the AGI video. The nice thing about it, is it creates a modular design, allowing things to be rearranged to keep things fresh. While its certainly NOT a requirement or expected so early on, I feel it'd be a really interesting direction to take things.

Re: July 31 CQB - AAR
The office area is one of a kind, and it is excellent. The one thing I would like to add is scenery for temporary hiding. and I'll get to that in a moment.
Now, the bay areas could have different scenery as well. To me, the scenery/cover in an area is important to a game's dynamics.
We discussed training walls to make the bay areas more dynamic, and I like that idea. However, before those come into place, I would like to see the bay area littered with cardboard boxes and Styrofoam pieces, like what Talon mentioned.
I like cardboard for a few reasons:
1. Dirt cheap 2. Easily movable in game. Having a changing environment can noticeably change gameplay and training. 3. Thin wall cardboard can be destroyed. Close enough, a player or trainee can shoot through these kinds of cardboard boxes, so the player(s) behind them is not guaranteed to have cover for long. Again, dynamic environment.
I like low density Styrofoam as well because it is extremely fragile and can easily break with airsoft shooting. Having that kind of debris flying around a player can make the game more intense for both sides. There could be .5"-1" thick Styrofoam walls that could help simulate rounds punching through a wall and hitting operators on the other side.

Re: July 31 CQB - AAR
I think the destructible environment sounds cool to be sure, however, I can see the costs quickly adding up. The amount of spraying into material would chew through most anything that after a round or two I would imagine the place would be a mess to clean up.

Re: July 31 CQB - AAR
There is soo much potential for this facility. I'm looking forward to seeing it develop into a truly memorable site. I do have some constructive criticism to offer though.
Although it's already been mentioned, cutting through the parking lot was a big issue. When combined w/ the unlimited respawns in the PSD scenario, it gave the opfor unlimited suppression on the loading bay, no matter how many enemy KIAs there were.
Also: there needs to be some taller, non transparent cover in the warehouse rooms. Several key concepts of CQB were compromised w/ the semi transparent, low cover. There was minimal ability to move due to long lines of sight for both sides, more like trench warfare than a true CQB environment.
I really enjoyed the office area, it was great for the people with training levels in CQB, and also exposed the CQB first-timers to a raw environment that hasnt been seen in North Texas since the Dirty Pearl.

Re: July 31 CQB - AAR
We'll this place really has potential to be a awesome indoor Cqb arena, although my 1st thought is how hot the upstairs can get, as you no heat rises, it would be cool if the darker area of the wharehouse had some strobe light and lot more walls, maybe couple of auto's, barrels for the sounds and some music playing in the background, for the visual content, smoke , blacklights in some of the rooms, and some military netting. We'll I can keep going but this can be done and some can be donated or povided for free by the players to make this to be a badass indoor Cqb arena. Oh yea some A/C or more fans. Dream big my friends dream big. I love this place if you get a chance to go I would .

Re: July 31 CQB - AAR
First is my opinion of the place and Second my ideas on improvement over the long term. I had a blast and this place is by far my favorite. This is just another reason why I love airsoft over all my other hobbies. This place has the potential of anything you have in mind, with the proper funding, people to show, and hard work, we could get there.
1. The Offices are the best part as of Today.... The stairs are my favorite part of the office space and for someone like me, who’s an adrenaline junkie it doesn't get no better… Your heart is pounding, your sweeting bullets as you arise at the top of the stairs, your point man with your team behind you, your checking your corners, and BAM the fight is on and bb’s are flying…The office space in my opinion, doesn't need any work, maybe a few things to hide behind and a fan because the doors serve as plenty of cover.. The net over the door to block bb’s entering the safe zone was a fantastic idea and maybe a few more on all the doors leading to the safe zone would help. I liked the idea of pistols only upstairs, as there isn’t any true place over 20ft except maybe a few spots. The pistol only game was super fun and I believed it worked great. When the 350fps CAP is in place maybe my ideas of AEG’s upstairs will change but for the most part everyone used shotguns or handguns when they went up anyway.
The Open Area was fun but could have been better. I know this was just a first step, so take no offence just my ideas to help improve. Good thinking about putting up the nets other wise it would have been unplayable, for the most part. Changing from lights on, to lights off was a quick way to change the entire style of game play. The upstairs over the bathroom is the best part of the Open Area.
2. Here are my thoughts of improving the place with Little Money Down. The first thing that pops into my mind is we need Cover in the open area. Here is a list of things that make great cover, are free or relatively cheap, and can be found everywhere including the the materials we have in stock now..
1. Tires 2. Barrels 3. Pallets 4. Plywood 5. Cardboard Boxes 6. Netting 7. Fence Panels
In the long term, walls made out of Plywood would be the most economical choice as they don’t need any maintenance and if we used ¼’’, the walls could be easily moved to change the AO. Also if the room had to be cleared, you could stack the walls together in a corner and then screw them together when you get there. I am going to stop here as my ideas and thoughts would go on and on..
As mentioned before, every NTA member is going to invest in grenades and by the time major OP’s come around (Bulldog) we should have a pretty good group talent wise. As of Now, my next pay check goes to a Top notch GBB and a grenade.
