I'm up for a challenge.

Claymore and Frosty's command presance at Steel Spider impressed me. Sad to say I did not attend this years invasion. Wont miss out on this challenge.

I'll try to drum up some interest within my team for an 8 man group to take this head on. Can't let TEF take all the glory in CQB. ;)

Post SHELVED until 2010
The Fireproof Challenge will be shelved until 2011. There were a lot of factors at play in this difficult decision. It came down to being able to provide the Top Quality event that MSE is known for. The economy, event standards, Local / Regional player base, timing are among a multitude of factors have already made the decision for us, we must realize this and comply.

It is the goal of MSE, Claymore-Frosty productions, MSE Staff writers and administration, to bring you the best bang for your milsim buck. We will continue to bring you the “best overall players game” in the nation, Oklahoma Invasion. Milsim is defined in the central US by the Invasion and will continue to be the best, most attended game going. OKI6 will be the game to attend in 2011. This is and will always be our Primary focus.

We would like to thank our hardcore supporters and all those that have attended our games in the past years. Without your attendance, we are just another OP. MSE is working on other venues that will surely set the bar a notch higher for our region and the national milsim community.

Frosty and I sincerely apologize if you are dramatically affected by this decision. PM, Email, Text or call us if you need to chat.

MSE will bring you the Fireproof Challenge once we and the milsim community are ready.

Thanks and see you on the field... Yes, this means I will have more time for a few events in "yall's" neck of the woods...

Urgent Fury 3 also just cancelled.. I have never seen ops close at the rate they're closing. I have now seen 4 large ops close in 2010.. We have to turn this around some how... I will be there in 2011 when you guys re-open it. Also look foward to going back to next years Invasion..

It’s the economy and video games.

I have 3 business connected to hobbies and all three are down. And I see it’s going to get worse.

WWII living history is down nearly 80% and the hobby here in Texas has crashed here in the Texas area with only about 4 events left here all year, and they are about 75% smaller.

Air show attendance is down, I was vending at an Indiana air show last year that still has not paid the aircraft for coming. That airfield alone may have to close due to it making others hesitant to host them. I was at one of the largest air shows in the US here in Texas and the event was about 1/3 the expected traffic.

Air soft is slowing and people are sitting on there money. Many will get new guns but will not drive more than 20 min to a game. So the field gets old and they get bored. I as a business owner I see many more events going away if people don’t get out and support not only your local field but others around you. Same thing goes for your local retailer, if you save $5.00 by getting something direct from overseas over and over again, than when you need something from a local vendor he wont be there.

If you want to help buck the trend buy local, take a friend to the field with you to get him / her hooked, make more games….. or its going to be a long year for air soft.

I wish the fireproof and the UF3 guys the best, if you have never hosted an event you cant know how hard it is to pull the plug on all your hard work.
Just my .02
Dave
